Up until 1990 the 928 uses a speed pulse from the final drive to get the car speed. The later models use the left rear (up to 1992) or front(1992->) to determine speed.

Doing some tweaking / planning.

Does anyone know how many pulses are sent from the Differential to the Speedometer per mile?

Based on stock wheels and tires would be fine.

I can deal with it after that.

Up until 1990, eight pulses for each revolution of the ring gear (therefore for each revolution of the rear wheels).
