Starting 1986 the 928 was equipped with wheel nut locks. Not the greatest design I must say. Sometimes it is hard to get the locks assembly off the lug, and this can be especially awkward with the deep rear wheels ... if you're having a flat tire on a rainy evening in the countryside....
Removing the locks when the key is lost is pretty simple: use a big sizzle and hammer, hit it hard on the top as if trying to split. The mechanism cracks and the lock can be pulled off. Not much of a lock if you ask me :)
