Hi guys!
I have checked the Transmission protection switch while driving. (DVM on pin 25
of the EZK and ground)
Well... what should I say? While in Idle, 4th and 3rd gear I have 12 volts.
In 1st and 2nd its 0 volts.
According to the manual I should have a short pulse while changing gears from
1-2-3? The switch is connected to the brakeband B1 according to the manuals, so
it should relate.
Any comments appreciated.
regards Michael

Hi Michael,
You should measure on the 3-pin connector in the spare-tire bin in the back.
(While driving).
Connect Voltmeter socket-sided on Kl.1 and Kl.2
Ignition on, indicator approx. 5 Volts .
Connect Ohmmeter pin-sided on Kl.1 and Kl.2
The tranny protection switch must close while stepping from 1st gear to 2nd
(indicator <1 Ohm) and open when stepping from 2nd to 3rd (indicator infinite
Ohm).
Also while stepping down from 3rd to 2nd gear the switch should close and when
stepping from 2nd to 1st it should open.
If not.... then you will have to check cables and switch and replace when
required.
This is all correct up to tranny-nr. 16 H 10 446 RoW or 16 H 00 563 USA.
From tranny-nr. 16 H 10 447 RoW or 16 H 00 564 USA onwards: (Don't measure this
while driving):
Connect Voltmeter socket-side on Kl.1 and Kl.2 (Connector in the spare tire bin)
Ignition on, indicator approx. 5 Volt .
Connect Ohmmeter pin-sided on Kl.1 and Kl.2
Run the engine.
Tranny selection lever in position P and N: infinite Ohm (Switch open)
Tranny selection lever in position D: <1 Ohm (Switch closed)
If not, then measure directly on the switch and replace if required.
