'Cutting Loose
A Corvette driven by American Rick Doria has just been caught traveling at
355km/h along a public road in Nevada - and the police just smiled. Every
year a crazy event called the Nevada Pony Express is conducted on closed
highways in the gambling state. Entrants go hell for leather along 80km of
good road, winding up to a full-tilt blast through a speed trap. Another
Corvette was second fastest at 349km/h with a road going Porsche 928 third,
clocking 333km/h.'
