> Anyone know which terminals those wires go to to re-connect the thermometer?

OK, Don, I just got home and found the notes I took when I was doing the aero mirror upgrade a couple of weeks ago.  For completeness (in case Greg Nichols wants to harvest this for the 928 Tips pages), I'll first give all the wire color codes on the "car side" of the connectors and then the "mirror side".  Keep in mind that this is for my '90 928S4.

"ASCII graphics" stuff below will only look correct if you use a monospaced font.

Right Car Side (passenger side in U.S.):

  6-pin connector (drawn from wire insertion side):

    /---1---2---3---4---5---6-\
    |  O   O  O   O  O   O |
    +------------------------------+

    1: white/gray [adjustment motor 2]
    2: blue/red (bridged to pin 4) [adjustment motor 2]
    3: black/blue [adjustment motor 1]
    4: blue/red (bridged to pin 2) [adjustment motor 1]
    5: gray/green [heating element]
    6: brown [heating element]

  4-pin connector (drawn from wire insertion side):

    /--4---3---2---1-\
    | O  O   O  O |
    +-------------------+

    1: gray/yellow [motor 2 position potentiometer]
    2: green/brown [potentiometer common end A]
    3: brown/yellow [potentiometer common end B]
    4: yellow/green [motor 1 position potentiometer]

Left Car Side (driver side in U.S.):

  6-pin connector (drawn from wire insertion side):

    /--1---2---3---4---5---6-\
    | O  O   O   O  O   O |
    +-----------------------------+

    1: white/brown [adjustment motor 2]
    2: blue/black (bridged to pin 4) [adjustment motor 2]
    3: black/red [adjustment motor 1]
    4: blue/black (bridged to pin 2) [adjustment motor 1]
    5: gray/green [heating element]
    6: brown [heating element]

  4-pin connector (drawn from wire insertion side):

    /--4---3---2---1-\
    | O   O  O  O |
    +-------------------+

    1: gray [motor 2 position potentiometer]
    2: green [potentiometer common end A]
    3: blue/brown [potentiometer common end B]
    4: yellow [motor 1 position potentiometer]

  2-pin connector for temperature sensor
  (terminals are visibly numbered, I think)

    1: brown/green [temperature sensor]
    2: blue/green [temperature sensor]

Mirror Side (for both Left and Right Mirrors)

  6-pin connector (drawn from wire insertion side):

    /--6---5--4---3---2---1-\
    | O  O  O  O   O  O |
    +----------------------------+

    1: white
    2: blue
    3: black
    4: red
    5: brown
    6: brown

  4-pin connector (drawn from wire insertion side):

    /--1---2---3---4-\
    | O   O  O   O |
    +--------------------+

    1: gray
    2: green
    3: brown (original flag mirror) ..or.. pink (aero/GTS mirror)
    4: yellow

If you want to look at the electrical diagrams in the shop manuals, here are the relevant places to look (again, this is for the '90 model year):

  - For mirror motors and potentiometers, i.e., for everything related to the 4 and 6 pin connectors:
      "928 S Model 90 Sheet 7"
      "(M537, M538 Seat and Mirror Memory",
      all the stuff inside the rectangle with upper left corner at A-52 and lower right corner through D-58

  - For outside temperature sensor, i.e., for the two pin connector:
      "928 S Model 90 Sheet 4"
      "Instrument Cluster and Senders"
      D-21 and D-22

===============

if anyone is interested, here is how to wire the GTS mirrors into your S4/GT wiring

in your existing                to the GTS
 wiring harness,-------------->mirror wiring
connect the:                    harness

(4 wire plug)
gray/yellow--------------------->gray
green/brown-------------------->green
brown/yellow------------------->pink
yellow/green-------------------->yellow

(6 wire plug)
brown----------------------------->brown
gray/green---------------------->brown
white/gray----------------------->white
black------------------------------>black
blue/red--------------------------->blue AND red wires

first color is the main color,  second color is the stripe ie.
COLOR/STRIPE

I'll try to make a whole procedure and write it down and post it to the list soon.
take care all...
