The CS is a lightweight edition of the manual S4, with different engine

management, camshafts, suspension, etc... It was sold in Europe only (mainly for Germany) and 17 were made, 10 1988 model year, 7 1989 model year. A regular CS weights around 100 kg less than a S4 with no options.

The SE (for Sport Equipment) was the UK version of the CS, with a luxury equipment. 42 were made, all in 1988 model year. It weights the same than a regular S4 but with a stiffer suspension and a funnier engine.

In fact, the CS SE are "prototypes" of the GT. A GT is "only" a S4 with the suspension and engine of the CS.
